Citrus-Hazelnut Gremolata




Ingredients

  •  tablespoons finely chopped toasted hazelnuts 
  •  tablespoons snipped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley

  •  1 1/2 teaspoons finely shredded orange peel
  •  teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
  •  1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel
  •  cloves garlic, minced
  •  1/4 teaspoon salt
  •  1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  •  tablespoon olive oil
  •  shallot, finely chopped

Directions

  1.  In a small bowl, stir together all ingredients.
  2.  Serve over grilled meat or fish, or toss with fresh green beans and carrots that have been steamed until crisp-tender.

Tip

  • Tip: To toast whole nuts or large pieces, spread in a shallow baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until golden, shaking pan once or twice.
